Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how personal data and technical data are processed in the “Lagerfeuer” app. It describes the current technically verified state of the project.
1. Controller

2. Purpose of the app
“Lagerfeuer” is an app for conversation rounds, questions, words, situations and shared reflection. The app displays game content, manages local game sessions on one device and may display ads.
3. Technically required app use and local storage
The app processes data that is required for operation and gameplay. This includes in particular player names, profile name, language setting, selected categories, number of rounds, difficulty, game state, roles, votes, scores and temporary round results.
The profile name, language setting and your consent choices are stored locally on your device. The current implementation uses Shared Preferences for this. Local data can be removed through app functions, where available, or by deleting the app from the device.
4. Game content, personal answers and custom situations
Game sessions generally run locally on the device. According to the current implementation, personal answers, spoken content, secret roles, secret numbers, votes and custom situations are not intentionally transmitted to Firebase and are not permanently stored in the cloud. Custom situations and spoken answers are not recorded; the app does not use a microphone or speech recognition for this.
5. Firebase and Cloud Firestore
The app initializes Firebase and uses Cloud Firestore by Google Ireland Limited/Google LLC to retrieve game content such as questions, special cards, words, terms and situations from publicly readable content collections. Depending on the game mode, this includes content from lagerfeuer_questions, doppelgaenger_terms, bluff_truth_questions, wort_merken_words, erklaer_mal_words and schauspiel_situations, if provided server-side.
According to the current implementation, the app does not write player names, personal answers, roles, votes or round results to Firestore. Firestore persistence is disabled in the app; however, technical connection, device, protocol and usage data may still be processed by Google when the app contacts Firebase services.
Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Authentication, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Firebase Remote Config, Firebase Performance Monitoring and Firebase Storage are not used as active app features in the current Flutter app.
6. Firebase Hosting
The public privacy pages and the app-ads.txt file are served through Firebase Hosting. When visiting this website, technically necessary access data such as IP address, browser information, time and requested URL may be processed by Firebase Hosting/Google to deliver the page and secure the service. The static hosting page does not include external tracking scripts or external fonts.
7. Advertising with Google AdMob
The app may display banner ads and rewarded ads through Google AdMob. Interstitial ads and app open ads are not intended in the current implementation. When ads are served, Google and, where applicable, participating advertising partners may process technical data, for example IP address, device and app information, advertising ID or other device identifiers, interactions with ads, diagnostic data and information about ad delivery. This processing is used in particular for ad delivery, frequency capping, fraud prevention, billing, measurement and, if you consent, personalized advertising.
8. Consent management
In the app you can use Profile > Settings > Consent Management to decide whether personalized advertising may be used. Your choice is stored locally on your device. If no consent choice exists, the release version does not load production ads according to the current implementation. If you reject personalized advertising, non-personalized ads may still be loaded where advertising is generally allowed and technically available. You can change or withdraw your choice in the app.
9. Permissions
The app requires internet access to load Firebase content and ads. Through included advertising and system libraries, Android may additionally use network- and advertising-related permissions or identifiers, in particular network state, advertising ID and Android AdServices permissions. According to the current implementation, the app does not request permissions for camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos, calendar or Bluetooth.
10. Contact
If you contact us by email, we process your email address and the content of your message in order to respond to your request.
11. Legal bases
The legal assessment depends on the specific processing activity. Possible legal bases include in particular:
- your consent, in particular for personalized advertising and comparable technologies requiring consent
- performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures, where data is required to provide app functions
- legitimate interests, for example app security, technical delivery, troubleshooting and prevention of misuse
- legal obligations, where such obligations exist
A final legal review remains reserved.
12. Recipients and international transfers
Recipients of personal or technical data may include in particular Google services such as Firebase and Google AdMob. Google may also process data outside the EU or EEA. Safeguards provided by Google, such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent guarantees, may be relevant. The precise legal assessment of such transfers must be reviewed separately.
13. Storage period and deletion
Locally stored app data remains on your device until it is removed through app functions, where available, or by deleting the app. Temporary game states are generally needed only for the current session. For email inquiries, we store your information for as long as necessary to handle the request and comply with legal obligations. The respective Google terms and privacy notices also apply to retention periods for Google services.
14. Your rights
Within the scope of legal requirements, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future.
15. Right to lodge a complaint
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data protection supervisory authority if you believe that the processing of your personal data violates data protection law.
16. Changes and version
This Privacy Policy may be updated if app functions or legal requirements change.
